george-reeves-superman-tv-television-series-original-art-painting-signed-sanjulian-lois-lane-jimmy-olsen-clark-kent-perry-white-1One of the most popular television series’ in TV history, The Adventures of Superman catapulted the Man of Steel before the world in a way he had never before enjoyed. More so than the comics, radio series, and the Saturday Serials combined, the television show helped cement Superman as on of the most enduring fictional creations of modern times.  George Reeves, playing the dual role of Clark Kent/Superman, became a pop culture icon. Joined by Phyllis Coates (who played Lois Lane in both the first season of the series as well as the 1951 film Superman and the Mole Men), Jack Larson as Jimmy Olsen, and John Hamilton as Perry White, the Daily Planet supporting staff were the only characters that made the transition from the comics and radio program to the television series.

Painted in glorious black and white, just as the first season of the series (featuring Coates as Lois Lane) was filmed, this original artwork features the work of master painter Sanjulián.  It measures approximately 11 1/2 by 14 inches (the image itself or 13 by 16 1/4 inches including the full canvas). Please note- this is an actual, original oil painting by Sanjulian. It is not a copy, print or pre-printed image. It is a one-of-a-kind original.
