Bob Brown and Frank Springer's Marvel Preview: The Haunt of Horror #12 page 16 (Marvel Comics, 1977). An unusual, soulful combination of action specialist Brown's pencils with Springer's moody inking and greyscale tones. The script (by Steve Gerber) confronts a criminal mob with an angry Lilith, Daughter of Dracula. Brown is better known for DC Comics' Challengers of the Unknown. Springer's signature title, Phoebe Zeit-Geist (with Saturday Night Live's Michael O'Donoghue), graced many issues of the Underground slick magazine, Evergreen Review), before Springer succeeded Jim Steranko on Nick Fury, Agent of S.H.I.E.L.D. The artists make a fine combo. Ink and Design Markers over graphite on Bristol board. Image area, 10.5" x 15". Light toning. Excellent condition.
