A True Grail Piece for any Micronauts and Michael Golden Fan! It was published in a Black and White Pin Up Fanzine Mediascene published by Jim Steranko back in the late '70's. It had everything you are looking for: The Main Heroes from the Micronauts, Vintage Art from Golden that is Cover Quality!!! The story behind this piece is the original owner met Golden at a NY con back around 1982 and purchased this as the black and white original art it was. He commissioned Golden to color the original. Golden even signed the piece with his signature "G" in color! So this piece is Pure Golden!!! I find this piece to be even nicer than all of the other covers as it features the main heroes in a Battle Pose! This has been the crown jewel of my collection! This piece is extremely unique as it is not only penciled and inked by Michael but hand colored with exacting detail like no other of his works. The subtle detail he added to each of the Homeworld circles can only be truly appreciated in person as it doesn't even show up in any of my scans. I would hold this up against the Best of any of his Micronauts covers and still choose this one! It was drawn in the prime of his career circa 1979, features the 6 main heroes of the original book and due to the fact that it had no logo placed at the top it is laid out in a more favorable Poster Like layout taking over the entire page with art! Unlike some of his later colored Micronauts covers this one does not have the annoying over lay, it is all drawn on one single board with no white out, tape marks or production blemishes! This piece, in my opinion, is "The Golden Micronauts" piece to own, bar none!
